Vacancy for an Events and Communications Officer

 

Job description:

The Embassy of Belgium in Tel Aviv is recruiting an Events and Communications Officer to strengthen its team. The employee will be responsible for planning, coordinating and supporting public events, managing communication activities (including media monitoring and social media), representing the embassy at external engagements and contributing to the promotion of Belgium’s image and the bilateral relations between Belgium and Israel.

Requirements:

  • Be administratively permitted to perform paid work in Israel.
  • Bachelor degree or equivalent relevant experience.
  • Native oral and written knowledge of Hebrew.
  • Very good oral and written knowledge of English.
  • Very good writing skills: able to produce clear, concise and engaging content.
  • Very good knowledge of the Israeli media, cultural and social landscape.
  • An established network within Israeli political, cultural or media circles.
  • Experience in event planning and organisation.
  • Good knowledge of social media platforms and content management.
  • Good IT skills, in particular of Microsoft Outlook, SharePoint, Teams and Word.
  • Excellent planning, organisational and communication skills.
  • Team spirit, discretion and loyalty.

Will be considered as an asset during the selection procedure:

  • Relevant work experience in communications, public relations, cultural management or event coordination.
  • Additional relevant linguistic knowledge, especially Arabic, Dutch and/or French.
  • Familiarity with Belgian institutions and administration.
  • Experience in organising high-level public events.
  • Familiarity with diplomatic and consular affairs.

Contract: employment contract for a renewable duration of one year.

Working hours: 37.5 h/week.

Selection procedure:

  • First phase: analysis of applications and selection of candidates who will be invited for the written test.
  • Second phase: written test by the selected candidates.
  • Third phase: interview of the selected candidates.

Estimated start date: 1 July 2025.
